Web and Analytics

(Autumn and spring)

Would you like to work on developing and marketing a successful web application? Then the exchange programme of Web & Analytics may be just the thing for you!

About the programme

The programme is all about web development across the full spectrum. However, a successful web application is not based on sound development alone. You need to think carefully about what you intend to build, the kind of infrastructure it’s based on and how you can attend to users’ needs by optimizing your application and maximizing its intuitiveness, so that (corporate) targets can be achieved. What's the right way to put your application on the digital market and how can you get visitors to use your application and keep coming back for more. Once the web application is ready, you can start analysing whether the intended results are achieved and what improvements can be made. So in this programme we'll be marketing a web application, in collaboration with clients.

Relevant workshops are given in the course of the semester. Students share their knowledge amongst themselves by means of Knowledge Lectures. Another way to gain additional theoretical knowledge is by visiting trade fairs and conferences.

Assignments may vary in nature and focus. They may consist of specification of the right requirements, infrastructure design and setup, building a new web application, digital marketing of the web application, analysing success and improving an existing application.

Multidisciplinary team

Part of the assignment will be carried out at a company and another part at Windesheim. You'll be working in multidisciplinary teams from various study programmes, with each bringing in their own expertise. These programmes include Software Engineering, Business Administration, Business IT & Management, Infrastructure Design & Security and Marketing and Communication.
