Broaden your horizons

Every year, we welcome exchange students from all over the world, and many of our own students choose to study abroad during their studies. Studying in another country can really help your personal and academic development. It broadens your horizons, introduces you to new ideas and new people… and it’s great fun!

At Windesheim, we offer a wide range of stimulating and valuable programmes. In addition, our students can choose from numerous partner universities worldwide for their exchange. Exchanges can be for one semester or two.

DIVERSE Alliance of European Universities

Windesheim is member of the DIVERSE University Alliance (Digital and Innovative Venture Science Education for Resilient and Sustainable Entrepreneurship), together with other 11 universities from 10 countries.

DIVERSE University Alliance strives to become the network of European universities that will be the European reference point for venture science: the need to apply tech advances in solving major societal challenges by giving people things that they really want, creating in effect economically sustainable solutions.

The Alliance, a truly European, multidisciplinary university campus, with more than 150.000 students, was created in response to the European Commission's challenge to create European networks of higher education institutions, aims to “transfer knowledge” between higher education institutions and the Society, increasing Europe's scientific power and thus reproducing it in economically sustainable products and services, processes and solutions with social impact, reinforcing the economic prosperity of the European Union, as well as the well-being of its citizens.

DIVERSE Alliance had submitted its proposal to the EU initiative 'European Universities' (Erasmus+) in February 2024. After being evaluated, it was awarded by the European Commission with the “Seal of Excellence”, which attests to the outstanding quality of the proposal going beyond the eligibility to receive funding. The attribution of the “Seal of Excellence”, which is a high-level mark of distinction, recognizes the merit and quality of the proposal from the DIVERSE Alliance and the universities that comprise it, and can be used both by the Consortium as a whole and individually by each of the 12 partner universities, whether in applications for schemes national funding, whether European or extra-European.

The DIVERSE Alliance Consortium includes:

  • Universitatea de Medicină, Farmacie, Științe și Tehnologie ”George Emil Palade” din Târgu Mureș
  • Algebra University, Croația
