There is pressure to raise educational standards. The Dutch government is seeking to bring education more into line with the labour market, to promote excellence and to produce better teachers.

Our research activities provide knowledge and insights that support the design of educational processes, interventions and organizations. Research is also intended to facilitate the professionalization of people working in education. Normative professionalism and differences between pupils, educators and organizations form important points of reference, and the pupil is always placed at the centre of the educational process.
