Erika Diender Appointed Chair of the Executive Board
As of June 1, Erika Diender is the new Chair of the Executive Board of Windesheim University of Applied Sciences. She succeeds Inge Grimm, who is making the move to Saxion University of Applied Sciences.
Anne Flierman, Chair of Windesheim’s Supervisory Board, said: “We are pleased with Erika’s appointment and see in her a chair who is fully committed to Windesheim’s strategic ambitions and who wishes to continue the current course. At the same time, she is keenly aware of societal and financial developments and their impact on the daily operations of our university. She radiates executive expertise, enthusiasm, and drive, and has shown that she works from a foundation of trust, connection, and dialogue.”
Over the past two and a half years, Erika has been a member of the Executive Board, responsible for the domains of Business, Media and Law; Health & Welfare; and Movement & Education. Her portfolio also included the themes of Education, Housing, Safety, Student Affairs, and Human Resources. As part of the ambitions set out in the institutional plan Dichterbij (“Closer”), she has contributed to the development of the Dichterbij portfolio, leadership, and further internationalization. She is also closely involved in preparations for new construction in Almere and is active in various regional and national educational networks.
Erika stated: “It is an honour to now lead this wonderful organization in the role of chair. Challenging times lie ahead, but I am fully confident that Windesheim in both Zwolle and Almere will continue to deliver high-quality education and research — even in rough waters. We have a strong strategic course with Dichterbij, and we will continue along that path. That’s how we will keep building our future!”
