Graduates feel their degree prepared them well for professional practice and rate Windesheim positively in several areas. In particular, they value the connection with the profession, the preparation for the labour market, and the quality of their programme and lecturers.
Strong preparation for professional practice
Preparing students for their professional careers is at the heart of higher professional education. At Windesheim, 62% of alumni rate this preparation positively. This is 9% above the national average.
Graduates say their studies not only helped them start their careers, but also gave them a solid foundation for further development. Around 78% feel well-equipped to continue developing their professional competences.
Strong match between study and work
The connection between degree programme and job remains stable compared with the 2023 results and is above the national average. Alumni say they are able to apply their knowledge and skills effectively in their work and feel their abilities are well-used.
Three quarters of Windesheim graduates work in positions at higher professional education level. This shows that many Windesheim students successfully enter the labour market and see their studies as relevant to their careers.
Quick employment and good career prospects
Most graduates find work quickly. Only 2.8% take longer than three months to secure a job. This is more favourable than the national figure.
Once employed, alumni are positive about their salaries, see good opportunities for career progression, and are largely satisfied with their roles.
Positive views on study experience and lecturers
Graduates look back positively on their time at Windesheim across the board. Overall satisfaction with their studies stands at 76%, clearly above the national average.
Many graduates say they would choose the same programme again and actively recommend Windesheim to others. This reflects strong confidence in the quality of education.

The HBO Monitor is an annual survey among graduates of Dutch universities of applied sciences. It provides insight into their position in the labour market and shows how well programmes prepare students for their careers. The study is conducted by the Research Centre for Education and the Labour Market (ROA) at Maastricht University.
