I have an international diploma
Windesheim looks at each application on an individual basis. We will consider qualifications from any country and measure them against the Dutch equivalents.
We evaluate your diploma after you have submitted your application through Studielink and have uploaded readable copies of your diploma and final transcript. We accept documents in Dutch, English or German. If your diploma is written in another language, you will need to enclose a certified translation (in Dutch, English or German).
English language requirements
If you are not a native English speaker, you will need to show that you have an adequate knowledge of written and spoken English. Please see the next section for all details.
Recommended subjects
It is recommended, but not necessary, that you have passed subjects such as Economics or Mathematics. This will give you a better chance of doing well in this programme.

I have a Dutch diploma
Make sure your profile allows you to start with International Business. Do you miss one or more required subjects? Then you can do a deficiency test with us, so that you and Windesheim can be sure that your knowledge of that subject is at a sufficient level.
It is recommended that you have passed Economics, regardless of your profile. It is not compulsory, but it will give you a better chance of doing well in this programme.

I don't have the right diploma
In some situations, if you are 21 or older and do not meet the prior education requirement, you can still be admitted after passing a 21+ entrance examination. The 21+ entrance examination at Windesheim University of Applied Sciences includes amongst others an ability test. The test mainly appeals to insight and aptitude.

Language requirements
If you are not a native English speaker, you will need to show that you have an adequate knowledge of written and spoken English before you begin your studies. Please note that we do not accept language tests/certificates that are older than 2 years.

Cambridge: B2 (First), C1 (Advanced) or C2 (Proficiency)Exemptions
You are exempted from proving proficiency in English if you have:
- a Dutch havo, vwo or mbo-4 diploma
- a German Abitur or a Fachhochschulreife with final exam in English
- an International Baccalaureate (IB)
- a European Baccalaureate with English as the medium of instruction, or if you have taken English as a final exam subject
- a diploma granting admission, obtained in the United States, Canada, Australia, Great Britain or Ireland, the language of instruction being English

In addition to having achieved - or expecting to obtain - one of the qualifications listed below, a selection procedure is part of the application process for Global Project and Change Management. We only have room for 80 new students, so we want to make sure that our learning community suits you.

Make sure your profile allows you to start with Global Project and Change Management. In any case, a pass in English and mathematics is required. Do you miss one or more required subjects? Then you can do a deficiency test with us, so that you and Windesheim can be sure that your knowledge of that subject is at a sufficient level.

You can start this programme with an mbo-4 diploma and an average grade of 7.5. In addition, you must prove that you have proficiency in English at level B2 (or international equivalent). Your mathematics should be at havo-level. This will be tested at Windesheim.
If your average grade cannot be calculated, you need to provide evidence of above-average performance, e.g. a reference from your school.
We only accept a full mbo-diploma, not separate certificates.

Mathematics requirements
You need to provide evidence that your maths proficiency is at a sufficient level. If you have a havo or vwo diploma (or equivalent), you need to have a pass for maths. Otherwise, you need to provide evidence that your proficiency is at an equivalent level.
Refresher course
We offer a refresher course in maths during the summer holiday for students who have done a gap year or did pass maths but are not confident in the subject. You may also be asked to do the course as a condition for being accepted to the programme.
