Leliestraat has given me plenty of opportunities to settle into student life

Hi, I'm Izzy and I'm from the United Kingdom. Leliestraat has been a really positive experience for me so far and has given me plenty of opportunities to settle into student life. The location is ideal - it’s about a 15-minute cycle to campus, 10 minutes from the city centre, and Park De Wezenlanden is just a short walk away, which is perfect when you want a bit of fresh air.

Shared and individual rooms

When applying, you can choose between a shared room or an individual room, with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities, in both cases you’re only sharing with one other person. I opted for an individual room because I value having my own space, and that’s worked really well for me. At the same time, having a shared kitchen is great because it naturally brings people together, so you still get that social aspect of student living.

Meeting people

Although Leliestraat doesn’t have a dedicated communal hangout space, it hasn’t really affected the social side of things. People often stop and chat in the corridors, and we’ll meet up in each other’s rooms, so it still feels very sociable and easy to connect with fellow students.

Life in Zwolle

Living in Zwolle has honestly been amazing. It’s a great city with everything you need, from shops to cafés and places to spend time with friends. On colder, rainy days, it’s nice to stay in or head to a cosy café, but when the weather’s good, it’s even better - whether that’s relaxing in Park De Wezenlanden or sitting by the canals. Overall, it’s been a really enjoyable place to live.
