I un/learnt in creative safe spaces

As a German, all I knew I was dreaming of, was to study abroad; five months later, I found myself enrolled in the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Global Project and Change Management, at Windesheim Honours College. Web searches and study portals highlighted and navigated me to the same international small scale study community. With no similar programme alike, I trusted the result, and what followed to be a beautiful transformative learning experience.

Throughout four years, I un/learnt in creative safe spaces, provided by the department, co-designed by fellow students from and beyond Europe. Besides joining hands and studying transdisciplinary, we were encouraged to translate theory into practice. Through team and project work with external organisations, intergenerational dialogues sparked visions’ co-creation. Two of four years self-directed; the community welcomed and hosted me first, before it inspired me to be the change thereafter.

A year in the field, I found myself looking for a master’s programme to follow up on my academic path. It was through a recommendation that I was pointed to the Master of Science (MSc) in Strategic Leadership towards Sustainability, at the Blekinge Institute of Technology, in Sweden. Only a week into the intensive ten-month programme, I noticed many parallels to my previous study cohort. Invited to unite in diversity, I embraced what feels like the bachelor’s degree ‘sister programme’.

Ever since, it's a pleasure to meet and listen to stories with wonder. Weave knowledge, and dance in complexity, together.
