Welcome to Windesheim
The introduction module is the perfect way to introduce you to life in Zwolle and the Netherlands. The module is open to all international exchange students studying at Windesheim. Our programme is organized to help you make new friends and meet other students, to welcome you to campus and to help you settle into your new surroundings and life. There is an extensive range of social activities and tours taking place throughout the semester, and we encourage you to take advantage of everything that is offered.

Activities and assignments (2 ECTS credits)

This elective cross-departmental part-time module 'Windesheim and the Netherlands, Introduction module of several Dutch aspects analyzed in an international perspective' consists of the following activities:
- The introduction week
- Various activities organized by (Erasmus Student Network Zwolle) ESN and the International Office
- Assignments
Introduction and welcome ceremony
You will start your semester abroad with the introduction days. During this event, the International Office will provide you with a student number/card, municipality registration information, information about IT and the timetable for electives/cross-departmental courses. You will also receive more information about Zwolle, keeping safe in the Netherlands and Dutch Immigration Authorities (for visa students). The study department will tell you more about your courses, where to find your course content, how to enrol to exams and where to find your results. You will receive more detailed information about the details of the programme from ESN and our International Office after you have been accepted.
Activities organized by ESN
Throughout the semester, a wide variety of activities will be on offer to the new students who join us in September and February. These events will help you meet new people and introduce you to living and studying in the Netherlands. To obtain the two ECTS credits, you have to participate in at least four of the six activities of the ESN activities programme and the assignments.
Assignments (NOTE! this module is no longer offered from Autumn 23-24 semester on)
Your assignments consist of describing your study experience. You will reflect on topics such as:
- The differences and similarities between living and studying in your home country and in the Netherlands.
- Your learning experience during your stay at Windesheim
The lecturers of the international modules are responsible for this part of the programme and will evaluate your assignments.
