In Future Technology you learn to investigate the possibilities of new technologies and work on new applications using technology in various phases. Conducting research, developing proof-of-concepts and/or building prototypes form a substantial part of most projects.
What's Future Technology like?
Future Technology is a collaboration between clients, partners and the Windesheim IT-department. Below you can read how this full-time bachelor's level programme of 30 ECTS credits is structured.

Project (24 ECTS credits)
In this exchange programme you will learn to participate in projects in a professional setting. This is done in multidisciplinary teams for an actual client or in a real-life setting. This way, you learn from both the professional environment and other related disciplines.
The project
The projects can vary considerably. Examples of projects include: developing new hardware devices, the optimization of business processes using technology or the deployment of new technology and/or new applications. Every project is different, which means that the learning opportunities can vary as well.
You work on a large project for 20 weeks. The project can have an organization as client or be initiated by a curious student or lecturer. In multidisciplinary student teams of 3 to 5, you will work on the project for 32 hours a week (Tuesday to Friday) at Windesheim or at the client’s location.
As part of the project, there are coaching sessions, workshops contributing to your project and regular presentations in which you will share your obtained knowledge and progress.
Shape your own semester
Based on your project, you decide how to structure your semester. To help you with your project, a number of workshops can be attended. Some are obligatory (e.g. project management and research set-up), others are elective (such as scrum or design thinking). The workshops are not graded individually, but are aimed to contribute to the success of the specific projects.

Electives modules
Complete your exchange semester or year by taking one or two cross-departmental modules. You will receive ECTS credits when you complete a module successfully.

Requirements and application
You are required to have two years of Bachelor’s study experience in a relevant field and English-language skills at B2 level. It is also recommended to have affinity and interest in new and future technologies and applications.

Learning Agreement
The Learning Agreement is a crucial document for the recognition of a study period abroad. It is an agreement between you, your university and Windesheim. When you decide to do an exchange programme at Windesheim, you have to create a Learning Agreement that includes the respective courses of the exchange programme.
