I learned how to use the many interesting available online tools, which make project work more convenient.
My name is Eiko and I am 2nd year student from Germany. As we nearly reached the end of this (academic) year it is time to look back. I cannot imagine how a semester could have been more crazy. Of course, COVID-19 has had the biggest impact on my study life. When it came out that universities were closing I went back to Germany, which means that I did all courses, project work and extra-curricular activities online. As I am really a person living in the moment, I was struggling hard to manage the workload. The sadest moment of this semester was when the Shelter City Team, which I am part of, got the news that the Human Right Defender, who we were supposed to host, was not able to come. We spent a lot of time and effort into setting everything up, and therefore it was very unfortunate that the program got canceled.
But in the end I can say, that besides all the uncertainty and rearrangement, the semester worked out pretty well. I learned how to use the many interesting available online tools, which make project work more convenient. And I have to give props to Windesheim and its staff which managed so well in transforming physical classes and assignments into digital. I am happy and proud of how the whole Windesheim Honours College community together managed to make the best out of an unfortunate situation.
