Leadership in Education and Development

Professorship

Within the Professorship in Leadership in Education and Development, which is based at Windesheim Flevoland, our researchers explore the benefits of a so-called rich learning environment for children.

About this research

The focus of the Professorship in Leadership in Education and Development lies on several research activities regarding the development and implementation of rich learning environments, which can contribute to better learning processes for pupils, teachers, school leaders and policy makers. Research takes place in primary and secondary education, day-care, non-formal learning situations and within our own teacher training programs.

Lines of research

Windesheim Flevoland's educational research focuses on four topics: learning in and through technology − art, language, self-management and inclusive education − learning through play − and leadership. Research takes places within one of these four research lines of the professorship.

Research and projects

The Windesheim Professorship in Leadership in Education and Development is involved in several research projects, amongst others in a project called Learning through play (funded by the Dutch RAAK program) as well as in projects in cooperation with TechYourFuture. These projects are aiming to increase the potential of science and technic education and explorative learning within schools and teacher training programs.
